Filmmaker Spotlight: Parker Croft + Aaron Golden with ‘As Easy As Closing Your Eyes’
This month, we hosted our first Filmmaker Spotlight Interview with Director Parker Croft and Producer Aaron Golden of our Best Film Overall, 'As Easy As Closing Your Eyes', which was screened at the inaugural Golden Isles Film Festival in Fall 2024. Parker and Aaron shared great insights about how they met and the journey that this film took them on.
During the discussion, each Parker and Aaron introduced themselves and outlined their specific roles in the creation of "As Easy As Closing Your Eyes." They shared their backgrounds and experiences within the film industry, explaining how they contributed to bringing the project to fruition.
The film delves into Lila's struggle with grief and addiction, highlighting her emotional turmoil and the impact of her experiences with Amesten, a drug used in the film. The most important aspect of her journey is the resilience she demonstrates, showcasing the complexities of healing and the importance of seeking support in times of pain.
We then talked about the use of the drug, the additional Public Service Announcements that was created, and a small portion of the film that was filmed during a power outage (see if you can spot which scene was affected).
